Skis ‘n Tees Club Minutes for December 8, 2011
Meeting called to order at 8:08pm by El Presidente Mark Shearer
Membership Report: (Bob) 79 paid members, including 9 officers. “We have fewer meetings now so we need more members per meeting” per Denny
MDSC Report: (Don Green) absent, no report
Old Business: Christmas Caroling at the Farmington Hills Inn (Marie) on Dec. 3- 12 singers including Santa and the piano player came to entertain. Thanks to all who came to entertain the residents! You could tell by the singing and looks on their faces, they enjoyed the songs. It was well worth the effort and we hope to do a repeat performance next year. As Georgette says “It made you feel Chistmasy”
Current and Future Happenings:
Ski Club Christmas Party (Teri) This Saturday, December 10th, at Stitt Post. Live band. Prepaid $20, $25 after that. $10 for the after dinner crowd. BYOB, beer, wine and setups provided. Gift baskets for raffle will be available. ( See flyer) 59 are signed up, we need to pay for 60. Doors open at 6:30pm. Teri says they plan to have a second meal at 11pm to eat leftovers.
Winter Trip (for skiers and gamblersJ) Elaine and Georgette are co-chairing the trip to Turtle Creek (skiing at Shanty/Schuss or Boyne/Highlands). January 27-29th. It is now a driving trip, no bus (too expensive for numbers signed up on the bus) People who opt not to go due to it being a car drive trip can get refunds if they request one by Dec. 31st. New price: $135, for members; $145 guests. We have reservations for 40. If you go, you get $15 in slot play per day and $20 towards food for the weekend. Final payment due January 5th. (See flyer.)
Whaler’s Game: (Mary) on February 18. Details to follow.
Club Picnic : (Don) July 28, 2011 at Bell Creek pavilion. Free to members!
Announcements: 2/11 is Mark Shearer’s Birthday Bash! Denby Bowling is first that evening , and then those who can come are welcome to bowl afterwards in Canada (starting at 9:30pm). Need a passport or enhanced Driver’s License to cross the Boarder.
Gracie See’s on Monday December 12th. Wii Bowling at the Elks Jan. 5th Elks Christmas Party set-up tomorrow, 12/9, at 6pm, helpers needed.
